Woman Trapped on Qingshui Cliff Rescued with Rope|民眾跌落清水斷崖 受困一夜今早獲救公視 (2018-07-11 00:00)
Luckily the typhoon did not affect the east coast seriously as a woman was trapped on Qingshui Cliff for one night. She said she dropped her purse while she was standing by the road side to admire the scenery and she fell while trying to retrieve it. As the highway was closed due to the typhoon, she had to wait until the next day to be rescued.
Rescue workers responding to a call found a woman trapped on Qingshui Cliff on the morning of the 11th, just inches away from falling to the bottom. The squad lowered a rope and climbed down to where she was.
She was trying to retrieve a personal belonging and accidentally fell 30 meters down the cliff. The rescue squad used a rope to bring her to safety.
The woman says she was driving a cab down the Suhua Highway the day before and got out around the 170-kilometer marker to admire the scenery. She accidentally dropped her purse and slid down the side of the cliff when she tried to retrieve it. As the highway was closed due to the typhoon, she could only stay where she was and await help.
She had been trapped there since 5pm. last night because Suhua Highway was closed. Construction workers found her this morning. She was in stable condition when we arrived.
Fortunately, Hualien was not affected by the typhoon and the woman only sustained minor scrapes and bruises. She has been taken to Hualien Armed Forces General Hospital.
